A leading European retailer implemented an ERP system intending to improve its supply chain and delivery performance to customers. Shortly after “go-live”, the availability of stock for delivery to customers plummeted and led to over 40% of first time deliveries having shortages. Our consultant team, who had initially been engaged to look at the performance of the retail chain, were asked to move across urgently and work jointly with a team from the client to identify the root causes of the problems and then fix them. The result was a rapid turnaround in delivery performance; reducing the missing item level to less than 3% in six months.
