John began his career in industry as a project engineer. He held a number of engineering roles including a year spent on a project in Thailand, where living as well as working with colleagues and clients taught him a huge amount about how teams work. He then moved into positions in business operations, managing a supply chain across three continents and leading business operations programmes.

After 10+ years in industry he moved into consultancy and  he spent 5 years implementing business change programmes for a top 5 consulting firm. 

John has worked with leading companies across a number of sectors including life sciences, oil & gas, utility asset management, manufacturing and retail.  The roles have been varied, ranging from building new business propositions through implementing operational strategies, to driving performance management improvements.
